For his actions in the Korengal Valley, Afghanistan in 2007. Basically their outpost was ambushed by insurgents on a higher elevation than them, meaning that they could shoot from above, since the outpost was guarded by Hesco barriers from the sides, which stop bullets. He carried a soldier back to safety, who later died while under medical care. He also shot down insurgents, saving his squad from danger. How did the superbowl soilder get the medal of honor?
His base in the middle of a valley in Afghanistan got raided. He saw his fellow soldier getting dragged by the attackers, and so he rescued his teammate by killing the capturers. Although his buddy died, he received the MOH and he feels bad about it.
There have been plenty that lived and received the medal. He is just the first since the VietNam war. Not ALL Medal of Honor's are received posthumously. How did the superbowl soilder get the medal of honor?
