I must say I agree with you. How could any person who truly cares about the people he has ordered into harms way forget such a momentous honor that he personally bestowed on them through their family members. How often is a soldier awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor?
My grandfather received the medal, and I was curious how often it was awarded. He was a staff sergeant when the plane he was on was shot down. He pulled his friend out before jumping out, and they became prisoners of war during WWII.

Many like Harvey are out there that should also have one, but most times there is only one witness or none survive long enough to get the info down.
You can hear many great hero stories by visiting your local VA hospital. Some of these unsung hero's stories could never have been made up, unfortunately only some that survive have been scarred for life and have been in the VA since they came home. Myself and a few friends, for years brought gifts and books to those that will never leave the VA. We should all go and give credit where it is due and help bring home humanity back to our soldiers, women too that are now part of our history.

As for Harvey, his story is on line at the Metal of Honor site under Vietnam. Read some of them, it brings tears to my eyes that so many gave their lives to war that France didn't want to commit to and pulled out leaving us with the bag to defend those that didn't want to be communist. Ending the way it did has been painful. I have known many that came back from Nam with a metal or star, only to be spit on for being there by American citizens that avoided their obligation and ran off. If he really did win the medal, then you should look into going to one of the service academies, because children and grandchildren of medal of honor winners can receive an automatic appointment to the academies.

Attacking the control tower Medal of Honor Limited Edition?
I am on mission 2 of the new Medal of Honor. I am in the building just across from the control tower where you snipe the enemy snipers and rpgs. I have no trouble killing the the the bad guys, but the game doesn't advance after that. I watched a walk through on youtube of this part and I know that smoke is supposed to get thrown, but it never does. The Medal of Honor would be just another piece of property to be disposed of by his will. Without a will, the State would act in his behalf. I would hope that the Medal of Honor Society would be involved so it doesn't get "thrown out with the garbage". I would expect they would be involved as they keep tabs on every living MOH recipient.

I never really got into lone wolf multiplayer shooters. Halo is fun to play with your friends, but when you don't have anyone familiar to play with it gets dull. For me, COD is very repetitive and unbalanced. However, I really enjoy the battlefield series and TF2. No matter what even though they were never awarded the medal of honor, they chose to go up their not just for themselves but what all servicemen live for, breathe for, and die for and that's for the love of their country. Yes Ken Taylor and George Welch acted heroically, as did many others, some praised and honored, others ignored, in truth the entire system of handing out medals %26amp; awards has been so tainted with controversy and often self interest on the part of various groups that it is unfortunately a mute point. A person cutting his thumb opening a can of corned beef on a battlefield gets a Purple Heart, a man such as George Welch gets a DSC when his actions warranted a MOH - - - not mentioned in many histories is that Welch was originally named Schwartz, which may have influence some in the War Department, and that he was a bit of a square peg in a round hole, in other words he never rose as high as he ought to have in rank %26amp; status. Anyhow, yes, holler for Welch, he was truly a hero on December 7 1941.

I was told that a Vietnam veteran that I know was awarded the congressional medal of honor but refused to go to Washington and accept the award. The list of award winners does not include his name. I helped him get a proper military disability rating for the eye he lost from complications of his being wounded in combat. After the fall of Saigon in April of 1975 he mailed his medal back to Headquarters, Marine Corps to express his personal feelings about our withdrawal from that country.Could someone be nominated and approved for a congressional medal of honor but refuse to accept it?

dude, this game is amazing. the campaign is challenging and fun, with amazing graphics and 60 frames per second. it is just like call of duty 4. The online mode is amazing, with deathmatches, team deathmatches, and capture the flag. Up to 32 players can play at once, which is awesome. i have actually experienced no lag whatsoever online yet. the only thing i don't care for is that there's no splitscreen, online or offline, but it's still an awesome game. call of duty 4 doesn't have any splitscreen either. this is definately one of my favorite wii games. go for it!

The odds of getting a virus on your PS3 are so close to zero it's barely even worth considering. If the machine is just shutting off randomly while you're playing then the first thing I'd suspect is thermal failure. Make sure the fan is working and none of the vents are blocked and see if that fixes anything.
i also go the game the first day it came out. nothing happened to my ps3 all i saw is a vary small amount of lagging. medal of honor is way better then black ops in black ops u shoot a rpg at a wall it does nothing its stupid they try to get you to buy it with all this customization crap. maby you can tell whoever you bought it from that the game doesnt work and ask for a new one dont see how they could turn you down. but the game doesnt have viruses and i dont know why your ps3 is randomly turning off. and one other thing EA cut off connection to the server a couple of times it said so in the message i was sent i assume it was to fix things or somthing.

Since the game just recently came out, it takes time to get the online servers shaped up. Don't worry, it's hopefully no virus. Every game that recently came out experiences problems. Military people, would you salute an enlisted Medal of Honor Recipient?
I just read where a Staff Sergeant is about to be awarded the Medal of Honor. He is the first living recipient from these wars. Problem is on most days we're running around the bases, we don't wear uniforms that display medals/ribbons. ACUs, ABSGs, NWUs, MARPAT cammies-no ribbons/medals. It takes having a ceremony before you can put a ribbon rack on (in the Navy, most shore duties and staffs still wear SU/Service Khakis arouund).
There is nothing that states an enlisted member can't salute another enlisted member, I have seen it out of respect before. A Medal of Honor recipient can wear it in any uniform.

Even thought there is no regulation that requires you to salute a MoH recipient, it has been a tradition to do so. Even Presidents have saluted MoH recipients instead of returning salutes. You salute to show respect and honor. Even if the recipient is a private, a general will salute him.

Problem is on most days we're running around the bases, we don't wear uniforms that display medals/ribbons. ACUs, ABSGs, NWUs, MARPAT cammies-no ribbons/medals. It takes having a ceremony before you can put a ribbon rack on (in the Navy, most shore duties and staffs still wear SU/Service Khakis arouund).
There is nothing that states an enlisted member can't salute another enlisted member, I have seen it out of respect before. A Medal of Honor recipient can wear it in any uniform.

Even thought there is no regulation that requires you to salute a MoH recipient, it has been a tradition to do so. Even Presidents have saluted MoH recipients instead of returning salutes. You salute to show respect and honor. Even if the recipient is a private, a general will salute him.

I also read where officers who cross his path on base, at least when he is in his military outfit and his Medal of Honor can be seen, are expected to salute. It's not that they have to, but are encouraged to do so out of respect.

Why do i get kicked from Medal of Honor 4 multiplayer for PC before I even join a match?
I've tried dozens of times to get into the multiplayer for Medal of Honor and get kicked every time. Sometimes I don't even get to pick a class and I still haven't even fired a shot. i have never played medal of honor my self (online that is) but you might just need to port forward to see how you do that go to www.portforward.com
and you will also need to know your ip address for that open your search program and type in "CMD" this should open up a black box.
here you should type "ipconfig" and then scroll down to IPv4 address this is your ip your friend must have it to connect if there is no server list:) also you both need an active internet connection :)

Battlefield has the bigger player base...Medal of Honor isn't that great online in all reality, even if it's a combination of COD and Battlefield online gameplay mechanics. They are supposedly making a second Medal of Honor (I saw the ad in my copy of MW3 when I got it), but I don't know exactly when it's launching.
I prefer Battlefield myself. The newest installment, Battlefield 3, has a lot to offer. The biggest change is the new engine that is used. It allows for environment to be destroyed in real time. If you put C-4 explosives on a building it will blow a hole in the wall and such. Battlefield has huge maps, vehicles(jets,tanks,jeeps and so on) which makes the game much more challenging in my opinion. It also has multiple modes of play i.e. team death-match, squad death-match, conquest and so on. Battle field is more of a strategic warfare game rather than the usual "run and gun" shooter games. Some of the modes require a lot of teamwork in order for you to do well. Of course it still has the all for one and one for all modes for those who like to just shoot people and not worry about doing any objectives. The only drawback I can see is the starting load-out of guns when you first start. As you play the game and get points you level up and therefore unlock better guns and better attachments for your guns. That in turn will make you better. The only big difference in the two is that battlefield has a large selection of vehicles such as boats helecopters and airplanes that you can also jump out of and use ypur parachute. Whereas Medal of Honor only has one type of vehicle, the sniper rifles for multiplayer are much better. Also in my opinion the campaign for MoH is WAAYY better then in BBC3. Hope this helps you.
In battlefield u can blow up a bunch of stuff practically anything you see you can probably blow a chunk of it away.. Medal of honor is ok but it doesn't satisfy the full war experience.
