Ive looked into westpoints summer league progam and plan to do it. I hear your chances go up by 50% if you get accepted to the summer program. the MOH you gotta be the right guy at the right place at the right time. simply put: dont count on getting one.
If you mean the Summer Leader's Seminar, the chances of an appointment go up by way more than 50%. In the West Point SLS Video Colonel Batchelder essentially states that the chance of attaining an appointment for a pre-candidate offered Summer Leader's Seminar is 50%.

Let's do the math. 1000 pre-candidates are invited to Summer Leader's Seminar and 500 are offered an appointment. Overall 11,000 apply to West Point and about 1600 are offered an appointment. Around 300 decline an offer of appointment so the class size is at 1300.

The overall percent of pre-candidates offered an appointment is 1600/11,0000 = 14.5%

However if we subtract out the 500 appointments offered to the 1000 pre-candidates who attended Summer Leader's Seminar, the percent offered an appointment is 1100/10,000=11%

For pre candidates who attend Summer Leader's Seminar, 50% are offered an appointment.

For pre candidates who do not attend Summer Leader's Seminar, 11% are offered an appointment.

50%/11%(100) =455% Those pre-candidates who attend Summer Leader's Seminar have a 455% greater chance of being offered an appointment than those pre-candidates who do not attend Summer Leader's Seminar. West Point is one of the hardest colleges to get into in the nation. Doing the summer league program wouldn't hurt but I highly doubt it will raise your chances by fifty percent. The most important thing is that you are smart, athletic, and active in your community.



The Medal of Honor isn't exactly easy to get since it usually involves you dying in the process of doing something incredibly brave. Therefore, you shouldn't count on getting it anytime soon unless you are specically looking for danger which isn't recommended unless your 19D (Cav Scout).
West Point is a collage. nothing more or less but a military Academy.. you finish, you get a job as an LT. in the Army. BTW the Medal Of Honor is something you might never get one. it is the highest honor a serviceman can get. and the President gives it to you.How hard is it really to get into westpoint? Getting into west point is like getting into an Ivy league university.
