Why does the Navy/Coast Guard/Marine Corps share the same Medal of Honor design?

Those three branches all share the same design, while the Army and Air Force all get there own.Why does the Navy/Coast Guard/Marine Corps share the same Medal of Honor design?
There is a version of the medal for each sub-cabinet component of the Department of Defense: the Department of the Army, Department of the Navy, and Department of the Air Force. Before 1965, when the U.S. Air Force design was adopted, members of the U.S. Army Air Corps, U.S. Army Air Forces, and the U.S. Air Force received the Army version of the medal.[13]

*******As the United States Coast Guard is subsumed into the U.S. Navy in time of declared war, the only member of the Coast Guard to have received a Medal of Honor, Signalman 1st Class Douglas Munro, was posthumously awarded the Navy version for action during the Battle of Guadalcanal.[15][16] A separate Coast Guard medal was established in 1963, but no design yet exists for it. ***The add on is that when the Coast Guard is under Homeland Security they are acting as Law Enforcement and not eligable for military awards reserved for active members.

***Since the beginning of World War II, the medal has been awarded for extreme bravery beyond the call of duty while engaged in action against an enemy. Arising from these criteria, approximately 60 percent of the medals earned during and after World War II have been awarded posthumously.[30] Capt. William McGonagle is an exception to the enemy action rule, receiving his medal for his actions during the USS Liberty incident.[

Your search disabilities are noted. Decided to find it all in print instead of telling you what I know as fact....YOU could see it as opinion. Why does the Navy/Coast Guard/Marine Corps share the same Medal of Honor design?
Because they are not fully separate branches in that they are all under the Department of the Navy which is the Dept responsible for the Navy MoH.

While the Coast Guard it normally part of the Dept of Homeland Security....they are transferred to the Dept of the Navy during hostilities. That is the only time the MoH can be awarded to the CG therefore the Navy MoH is used. Why does the Navy/Coast Guard/Marine Corps share the same Medal of Honor design?
They are ALL branches of the Naval Service
